Vibe Coding: Acceptance and Trust in AI-Assisted Development Tools

Welcome!

This survey is part of a scientific thesis at FernUniversität in Hagen, Germany. It investigates which factors influence the intention to use AI-assisted coding tools (Vibe Coding), based on the UTAUT2 technology acceptance model.

What is Vibe Coding? In this survey, Vibe Coding refers to the use of AI-powered coding tools that simplify development tasks through natural language, chat interaction, code generation, autocomplete, or agent-based assistance. These include, for example, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Replit, Lovable, Bolt, and similar tools.

Depending on the user, the generated code can be reviewed, modified, or adopted to varying degrees.

What is Low-Code/No-Code (LCNC)? Low-Code/No-Code platforms enable application creation without or with minimal manual programming (e.g. Power Apps, Bubble, Webflow, Zapier, AppSheet).

Duration and Requirements

Approx. 10–12 minutes. Requirement: you must have already actively used at least one of the AI coding tools mentioned above.
